And the redefinition of marriage was not politically (or constitutionally) inevitable. Canadian Christendom (alleged in the 2001 census to be 76 percent of the population) needs to view enactment of same-sex marriage in Canada as an adverse judgment on the state of Christian witness within the nation. Many secularists, humanists, homosexists and other same-sex marriage advocates claim that same-sex marriage will have little negative impact on Canadian society and many argue everything will be for the better. Canadian Christendom needs to fully measure the negative consequences of Canada becoming a homosexist state. Canadian Christendom needs to equally measure and acknowledge the role that we played in allowing this unprecedented unchristian governance to take place.
2 - Canadian Christians need to take personal and collective responsibilities (ownwership and accountabilty) for an ineffectual and receeding voice (witness) in national affairs. The status quo witness of Canadian Christendom is in aggregate characterized as "lukewarm;" certainly not a glowing light of praise to God, unity in the Holy Spirit, truth in the Word, faith in Christ, and obedience before God. The status quo must go!
