Article Writing Competition
Towards our vision of improving the Christian witness and
encouraging Christians to be better disciples of Jesus Christ, StandForGod.Org
is sponsoring semi-annual Article Writing Competitions. Anyone interested in equipping believers
with practical ways to positively impact their lives and the lives of others
for Christ can enter. You don’t have to
be a so-called “Expert,” indeed, the Competition is intended to
encourage participation from the “grass-roots” membership of Canadian
Christendom. The following points
describe the Competition; any questions of clarification are welcome and
may be submitted by email to StandForGod.Org:
What
do you have to do?
When
does it happen?
How
do I enter?
Why enter this contest?

What do you have to do?
It's simple. You have to write an essay or article in
English of over 1,000 words about anything related to Ending the
Ineffectual “Status Quo” Christian Witness or to Improving
the Influence of Christianity Upon Canadian Governance and Society. The catch is that it must be written within
the bounds of the contest described below and submitted before the
deadline! The article can describe a
ministry or discipleship approach, which you have found particularly effective
or the essay may be a critique of some aspect of Canadian Christendom.
We are available to give you constructive feedback
about your article [if requested] on two occasions prior to the
submission deadline:
(1) Topic Selection - To make sure you're
writing about something suitable within the guidelines, and to assist where
possible in structuring the topic, you may want to consult us before you start
writing.
(2) Pre-deadline Review - Once you have a
draft you are happy with, you may want us to take a quick look at it. At this
stage, we'll be able to comment on details that will improve your chances in
the contest.
Just
email us when ready, if you wish this support!
When does it happen?
The
first contest is the Spring Competition. The deadline is fixed at: Friday, April 24, 2009, 23:59 GMT
The
second contest is the Fall Competition. The deadline is fixed at: Friday, October 23, 2009, 23:59 GMT
How do I enter?
Once
you have written your article, you must save it as TEXT, preferably
MSWord. Then email it to

. You'll get
confirmation of your entry once it has been processed.
Why enter this contest?
In addition to the wisdom
and experience that your article will bring to fellow believers, the essay will
be in competition for one of two
prizes:
The Winner's Prize
The
winner, as voted by competition participants, will be awarded $200. Every contestant will vote for his three
favourite articles. The winner will be the entry with the most votes. In the
case of a tie, a select jury will be asked to pick a winner.
The Jury's Award
The
second prize is the Jury's Award. The
winner of this prize, as voted by a select panel of judges, will be awarded
$100.00.
Who is involved?
Anyone can enter the contest; however, their article cannot have been
previously published.
Where does the article end up?
All
the articles will be published online at StandForGod.Org. The article remains your property; you
retain the copyright as the author of the work!
