Clergy - Do As I Say Not As I Do: Take a Stand – Actions
1 – There are many factors influencing the level of sexual misconduct and abuse among the leadership in Canadian Christendom. The moral sexual code for Christians declares sex outside of monogamous heterosexual marriage a sin. The more recent reality that this precept of the Christian worldview has been deconstructed in the minds of religious liberals must be considered a contributing factor to sexual misconduct and abuse in the church today. Moreover, since the Bible authorizes no same-sex intimacy and no sexual relations outside of marriage, the notion of differentiating same-sex pedophilia from ephebophilia from man-man homosexuality is a fruitless endeavor. Christian clergy and lay membership must make every effort to re-instill obedience to God’s sexual code of conduct.
